Resolves Dec 31, 2026
$
The Nasdaq 100 stock market index reaches various levels at 4 PM EST before the end of 2026.
Resolution is determined by the Nasdaq-100 index value recorded after issuance and before December 31, 2026 at 4pm EST. Each outcome corresponds to a specific price threshold; if the index closes above that threshold, the corresponding market resolves to Yes. The market closes on December 31, 2026 and expires at the sooner of the first data release or one week after December 31, 2026. Per the Kalshi Rulebook, the Exchange has modified the Source Agency and Underlying for indices markets.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous double auction, meaning buyers and sellers set the prices based on their expectations. Traders can buy 'yes' contracts if they believe the Nasdaq-100 will exceed a certain level by Dec 31, 2026, or sell 'no' contracts if they believe it will not. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each contract reflects the market’s consensus probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders participate and new information becomes available, the prices will adjust to reflect the changing expectations. This dynamic pricing mechanism allows for a real-time assessment of market sentiment.
This market resolves around Dec 31, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the Nasdaq-100’s highest price achieved during 2026 is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final price will be determined by established financial data sources, ensuring a transparent and objective resolution process. Traders will then be paid out based on whether their contracts align with the actual highest price reached during the year. This allows for a clear and unambiguous determination of the market’s outcome.
Several key signals and events could significantly impact this market. Macroeconomic data releases, such as inflation reports and interest rate decisions by the Federal Reserve, will likely cause shifts in trader sentiment. Major earnings reports from the largest companies within the Nasdaq-100, like Apple and Microsoft, could also trigger significant price movements. Unexpected geopolitical events or shifts in investor risk appetite could also influence the market. Any news that alters the outlook for economic growth or corporate profitability has the potential to move this market substantially.
