$
This market tracks the probability of Anthropic achieving a market capitalization of $600 billion or greater at the close of its initial public offering, as traded on Polymarket. Currently, the leading outcome – that Anthropic’s market cap will be $600B or greater by December 31, 2027 – has a 96.0% probability, while the chance of Anthropic not IPOing by that date is at 2.9%. Resolution will be based on Anthropic's market capitalization at the closing price on its first day of trading, according to the primary exchange’s official listing page. Keep a close watch on developments surrounding Anthropic’s IPO filing, expected before December 31, 2027, as this will be a key indicator of its potential valuation.
This market will resolve based on Anthropic's market capitalization at the closing price on its first day of trading. If no IPO occurs by December 31, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, the market will resolve to "No IPO by December 31, 2027". Market capitalization expresses the monetary value of a company’s outstanding shares, stated in its pricing currency. It is calculated as the number of shares outstanding multiplied by the closing share price on the first trading day. If the relevant value falls exactly between two brackets, then this market will resolve to the higher range bracket. Resolution will be based on the primary exchange’s official listing page. In the event that the relevant figure is not displayed, another reliable source will be used. In the event of an interruption in the course of the normal trading session on Anthropic’s first day of trading (e.g., a circuit breaker or half-day), the market will resolve according to the official closing price of the abbreviated session. If no such official closing price is published, the market will resolve according to the next trading day on which an official closing price is published, treating that as the first day of trading for purposes of this market.
Currently, prediction market participants are expressing a strong belief in a high valuation for Anthropic. It's important to note that prediction market odds represent the collective wisdom of traders actively putting capital at risk, which can differ from traditional analyst forecasts. While analysts provide expert opinions, this market reflects what people are willing to *bet* will happen. Comparing this to polls and analyst expectations provides a unique perspective on the potential success of the Anthropic IPO, offering a different signal than traditional financial analysis.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing different potential closing market cap brackets for Anthropic’s IPO. The price of each share reflects the probability of that bracket being the correct outcome, as determined by supply and demand. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The more traders buy shares in a particular bracket, the higher its price rises, indicating increased confidence in that outcome. This dynamic pricing allows the market to quickly incorporate new information and adjust expectations as the IPO date approaches.
This market resolves around Jan 1, 2028, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the closing market cap of Anthropic on its IPO day will be used to determine which bracket is the winner. The market will then pay out to those who correctly predicted the bracket containing the actual closing market cap. Traders should monitor news sources and official announcements regarding the IPO to stay informed about the potential resolution date and the factors influencing the final valuation.
Several signals and events could significantly impact this market. Any news regarding Anthropic's financial performance, such as revenue growth or profitability reports, would likely cause price fluctuations. Major announcements about the IPO itself, including the offering price range or the number of shares available, will also be key catalysts. Broader market conditions, particularly the performance of the tech sector and investor sentiment towards AI companies, could also influence trading activity in this market. Finally, any significant regulatory developments impacting the AI industry could shift expectations and move the odds.
