This market will resolve to "Yes" if the listed country officially recognizes Israel as a state between market creation and December 31, 2026, 11:59 PM ET. Otherwise, this market will resolve to “No”. An announcement of intentions will not suffice to resolve this market to "Yes." Only a government's formal recognition of the State of Israel will count toward a “Yes” resolution for this market. The primary resolution source for this market will be official government information. However, a consensus of credible reporting will also be used.

Prediction market odds on Polymarket reflect real-money incentives and aggregated trader conviction, often diverging from traditional analyst forecasts and diplomatic think-tank projections. While analysts may rely on formal statements, bilateral negotiations, and historical precedent, market participants price in live sentiment, geopolitical surprises, and shifting regional dynamics. The market's 9.5% probability for the leading outcome can serve as a reality check against expert consensus, revealing where traders see asymmetric risk or opportunity that conventional forecasters may have underweighted.
On Polymarket, this event is priced through an automated market maker mechanism where traders buy and sell shares corresponding to each potential country or outcome. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The current odds reflect the aggregate belief of all market participants, with prices adjusting in real time as new trades occur. Higher prices indicate greater perceived likelihood of recognition; lower prices suggest skepticism. Traders profit by correctly predicting which nations will formally recognize Israel before the deadline, creating financial incentives for information discovery and accurate probability assessment.
The market resolves on Dec 31, 2026. Resolution is determined by which countries have formally recognized Israel through official diplomatic channels by that deadline. Recognition typically involves establishment of formal diplomatic relations, exchange of ambassadors, or explicit government statements of acknowledgment. The specific criteria and authoritative sources used to confirm recognition are established in the market's resolution rules. Traders should monitor official government announcements, diplomatic statements, and international news sources to track progress toward resolution.
Key catalysts include major regional peace agreements, normalization frameworks, shifts in Arab League or OIC positions, changes in government leadership in target countries, and UN or international organization statements. Economic incentives, trade deals, and security partnerships can accelerate recognition. Conversely, escalations in regional conflicts, Palestinian developments, or domestic political opposition may delay or block recognition efforts. Statements from influential regional players, U.S. diplomatic initiatives, and bilateral negotiations will likely trigger significant market repricing. Monitor official government communications and geopolitical news closely for recognition announcements.
